Hand-curated: it counts what gets reported, not every layoff, and past months change as entries are added. A large announcement stays in the total for twelve months, then drops out.
The rolling twelve-month count of jobs employers themselves said they cut because of AI. It smooths out single announcements to show whether the number companies attribute to AI is growing.
