Plays the chart through its history. Pauses are where the data set a record or moved most.

Palanor Foresight™ comes with a free Palanor account. Create one · Continuation is open to everyone.

Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data, processed by KNMI (TEMIS). Monthly mean tropospheric NO2 from TROPOMI on Sentinel-5P, averaged by Palanor over Natural Earth boundaries. NO2 is far higher in winter than in summer. Hotspots: the tenth of each place's area with the highest NO2 in 2019, its cities, industry and power plants. Industrial production: Federal Reserve Board via FRED.

Two independent reads on U.S. industry: one from a satellite, one from the Federal Reserve. The satellite month is in within days; weather makes it far noisier month to month, so look at where the two lines agree over several months.
