Current·Data to Q3 2026
Scheduled principal

Palanor calculation from SEC EDGAR XBRL: the debt maturity table in each company’s latest 10-K, summed. Financial companies (SEC SIC 6000 to 6799, except real estate and REITs) are left out. Next 12 months is the fiscal year after each company’s annual report. Short-term borrowings and leases are not in the tables. Each reading uses only what companies had filed with the SEC by its date, as first reported, so it mostly reflects the previous quarter’s balance sheets. Index membership before late September 2026 is today’s constituents carried back, so older readings leave out companies that later left the index.

How much debt the S&P 500's non-financial companies must repay or refinance in each of the next five years and after, from the maturity tables in their annual reports. A tall near-term bar is debt that will be refinanced at today's rates.
