Plays the chart through its history. Pauses are where the data set a record or moved most.
Federal Reserve Board, H.15 Selected Interest Rates, via FRED (DGS20, DGS10, DGS30). Yields on an investment basis, interpolated by the Treasury from actively traded securities. The Treasury stopped issuing the 20-year bond in the late 1980s and restarted it in May 2020.
The yield on 20-year U.S. Treasuries next to the 10-year benchmark and the 30-year bond. Since the 20-year returned in 2020 it has often yielded more than the 30-year, a sign of thin demand at that point of the curve.
