Plays the chart through its history, period by period.

Federal Reserve, Financial Accounts of the United States (Z.1), table B.101: households and nonprofit organizations, end of quarter, market values. Each rectangle is one kind of asset, sized by its value; the parts add up to total assets. Stocks and funds held through pension plans count under pension entitlements. Business equity is equity in noncorporate business; bonds are debt securities held directly; other (financial) is life insurance reserves, loans and miscellaneous assets; durables are consumer durables and nonprofits’ equipment and intellectual property. The two remainders are Palanor’s arithmetic.

Everything U.S. households and nonprofits own, in one picture: homes and other real estate, stocks, pension savings, bank deposits, family businesses and the rest, sized by value in the newest Financial Accounts.
